This year, the annual General Assembly of the members of the Global Ecovillage Network - Europe (GEN) will be held at Europe's premier eco-centre, CAT, in West Wales.  The General Assembly is the highest governing body of GEN-Europe and it is here that the key decisions about the future direction of the organization are taken.

This year, in addition to the General Assembly, there will be two special events:
a two-day training programme offered by CAT staff on the subject: 'Teaching about Energy, Sustainability and the Environment';
a tour of CAT and of the Dyfi EcoValley Partnership, a pioneering project whose aim is to transform the Dyfi Valley area (where CAT is located) into a model of regional-level sustainability.

Programme for the week
Sunday 6 July           Arrivals
Monday 7        - Tuesday 8     Workshop: Teaching about Energy,  Sustainability and the Environment
Wednesday 9             Tour of CAT/talk on and the Dyfi EcoValley Partnership
Thursday 10 - Saturday 12       General Assembly
Sunday 13                       Departures

Accommodation is available either at CAT or at a nearby campsite (for costs of both, please see below).  We will coordinate the accommodation bookings - please let us know whether you want us to book accommodation for you at CAT or at the campsite. Please note that there is a limited number of beds at CAT, so please book early to be sure of a bed.

Participation at the General Assembly itself is free.  The one-day tour of CAT and of the Dyfi EcoValley Partnership are also free of charge.  Other costs are:

How to get there
CAT is located three miles away from the small Welsh town of Machynlleth (pronounced 'Mac-on-clith'!), on the coast of west Wales (for a map, visit the CAT website at www.cat.org.uk).  The nearest international airport is at Birmingham.  Coaches and trains go to Machynlleth both from Birmingham and London.
